Clicking gas hob - driving me CRAZY!

I did my kitchen clean this morning over, hob, cooker hood. Since I cleaned it the gas hob has been clicking. Essentially the little thing that sparks has been sparking on all four of the rings, randomly by the looks of it. I've had the hobs on for a minute to try and burn anything off that shouldn't be there, I've taken them all apart but it's still clicking. I can hear it from all over the house and it's driving me MAD!
What's going on? How can I fix it?

Did you remove the dials? It sounds as if either they didn't get put on quite right, or something is in there. Assuming your hob lights like mine, you turn the dial which turns the gas on and the ignition sparks. It's essentially mechanical (the position of the dial regulates whether or not the ignition sparks). If it seems random, it's possibly moisture causing the problem. Either remove the dials and dry ii, or use a hair dryer on them.

Our hotpoint gas hob does it occasionally - on ours its the flame cutout detection that's not working properly I think
If I pull the fuse out to disconnect it from the electricity supply for a few hours, it usually sorts it. It actually happened last night, and I just left it for a few hours and that worked too.Why pay more than you have to?0 -
Apparently this is a known issue with Bosch hobs - it happens if they get wet and then goes away once they dry.0

I used to have this problem with our old hob (not a Bosch). It was moisture in the button I think. I used to do as squirrelz suggests and disconnect it for a while.0

Thanks guys.
I put the hair dryer on it for a little while. The clicking got less frequent and stopped (eventually) about 4pm. Thank god. It was really unsettling!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0
