You are doing really well IMO!

Its difficult when shopping time is limited. Maybe you could cook a lasagne, stew or chilli etc and freeze a couple of portions. That would keep costs down.

I mealplan (I think I said before), then you can utilise what you already have in and just buy what you need.

    Do you have a freezer?

If I get a loaf reduced, sometimes I make DD's sarnies up and freeze them in bags and if you take them out in the morning, they are defrosted by lunch or mid morning.

Maybe Cravendale milk would last better than fresh.

Do a couple of basic meals a week. Baked spud, or egg and chips etc.

Wob - what about the cost and time involved in going to all the different shops?

Hi. Well the shops I mentioned are all within walking distance of a shopping centre we drive to. So, no extra cost for us although take a bit more time to walk around different shops but it's worth it and you feel a sense of achievement cutting your bills and not pandering to the supermarkets. Admittedly the convenience of having all these shops available to you at a ahsooping centre may not be the case for you. In which case you may need to alternate the sops you go to and but/stock up on certain products.

I've been considering doing this myself for a while but I live with two other people and we do all our shopping together so it's more difficult to keep track of who's eating what. There are some good tips here though- http://money.sky.com/mp/features/moneymatters/slash-supermarket-spend-may.html, I think planning your meals out before you go shopping so you know exactly what you need is a really good way to stay on track. Good luck!
