Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe this sort of thing is based on your IP address, and the location of your ISP. You could always use a proxy server...
Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!

but when i used aol there was no problem i changed isp to sky and now it happens. a proxy would be ok but i read that it slows down your connection speed?

There really is no reason to worry, I wouldn't bother. They don't know where you live, they just know very roughly what area you are in from your IP address.

Personally I'd want to update the security of my computer to stop the pop-ups appearing in the first place.

    Spybot Search & Destroy
    - install, update, execute. click the 'Imunize' button let it do its thing.

Say yes to let them delete whatever rubbish you've got on your system then simply reboot. As for teh popups themselves, then depending upon whatever browser you're using if it's IE8 then Tools, Popup Blocker - ON.

If it's firefox then install 'Adblock Plus': https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

If it's Opera Browser, simply press F12 and tick 'Block Unwanted Popups'.

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.
