Washing machine spin cycle going slow

Hi,
My Servis M6516 washing machine isn't getting up to the required speed on the spin cycle. It seems to be managing the wash and rinse OK - the water is pumping in and out but for the spin cycle it just trundles round slowly. It's just about fast enough to hold the clothes on the drum at it turns but it's not taking much water out and it takes ages to finish.
Is there anything I can try myself to fix it? I've cleaned the filter.
Thanks

Edit: It did briefly spin faster earlier but just for 20 seconds or so.

I'm no expert and so could be completely wrong, but it could be the motor brushes.

how to remove a washing machine motor

    how to change motor brushes

Possibly carbons, worth checking. If they are worn down get a note of what make the motor is as you can save a bit knowing that, in that model it looks like a CESET motor. ;)

Possible PCB, very, very common on Servis machines.

I gave it another try and although it started slow, it improved half-way through and it finished the rest of the cycle at the correct speed.:j It gets in these funny moods sometimes...

Thanks for those links. Replacing the motor brushes looks very do-able if/when it becomes necessary.
