add here your list of companies who have used intrusive full-screen pop-ups that slow down your computer.
instead of allowing their nasty, intrusive advertising to have the effect they want, this is your chance to let others know --- so that they too can bouycott them.
first is VODAFONE - i will never buy any of their products
second - ARGOS - another company that pays for intrustive full-screen pop-ups - don't use Argos. their cheap and nasty adverts have the opposite effect.

(by the way, if anyone knows how to get rid these full-screen pop-ups from your computer, please let me know. the usual means - trojan search, pop-up filter, virus checker - do not work with these awful pop-ups.)0

I don't get any full screen pop ups from either of those companies. Actually don't get full screen pop ups.
Weird.
Do you have a website that causes one?0 -

Eh? What on earth are you wittering about? I don't get pop-ups from either site and even if I did they wouldn't slow my machine up. Are you sure you are not confusing Vodafone and Argos with cheap !!!!!! sites (easily done)?0 -
I use a program called popup killer, which (ahem) kills popups...0

hi, dealerwins. and thanks for the reply. i already use firefox and adblock plus, but how do i get the no-script extensions? there doesn't seem to be an option for it.
everyone else - i hope you don't get the dreaded pop-ups like i do. i never visit !!!!!! sites, i have permanently updated antivirus and security so god knows how these pop-ups get on my internet. but if you do get the pop-ups, you will certainly know about it. and i hope you come back to this thread to see how to get rid of them.
(and i'm giving up on listing every single site that uses these pop-ups otherwise i'd be here all day. i'll just bouycott them on my own.)0 -
hi, dealerwins, i found out how to get no-script, but thanks for the reply. hopefully this will help me - and any others who have this same problem.0
