Hi All, i have two problems i dont know what to do about and i hope someone can help.
Quick background: last tax year working 37.5 hr @ £6.70 till dec then 2 months on jsa con based
1st problem : 05/05/09 Started a new job 30hr @ £5.83
I called wtc to say that the job i'm doing now is for a different company with less hrs and less pay than i had in the last tax year, wtc said fill in the form with last years figures and when the notice come through call us with the new details.
1a. Got the award notice, they have paid me from the 22/05/09( not from the 05/05/09) @£13.14 then goes up to £15.57
1b Rang them on the 13/05/09 to give them new details
1c Rang today and they have redone the figures and i now
£35.00 per week.
1d Rang again today to ask if the credits would be back
dated and he just kept trying to explain how they work
out how much to pay
So do wtc back date and if so how can i get them to go back to the 05/05/09
2nd problem: i have spoken to my rent account manager with ref to my rent arrears cos i'm still on emergency tax and couldnt affored to pay off 6 weeks rent arrears to which she informed me that my h/b and t/c are still being paid, even tho i fully filled out my signing on card and handed it in to the jobcentre get an early payment for busfare and stuff, i wonder can anyone tell me where i stand with this as i thought i had done what i was supposed to,
Many thanks in advance

Tax credits can be backdated up to 93 days maximum (usually), so in this case you would phone and tell them your circumstances were the same going back to 05/05/09 inclusive, and ask them if they'd send off a backdating referral. Before you do that though, make sure your award is reading from the later date....not the earlier one already. The award period will show you when the award start. Some customers think it started the day the first payment went in. If in doubt, give the helpline a call and ask.
Hope that helps a little0 -
Thanks it does, will do that, i have not recived the second award notice yet, but the man i spoke to says this 2nd claim goes back to the 02/06/09 and on my award notice for the 1st claim is dated the same 02/06/09 so thats nearly a month after i started work.0
