HI

I hope someone out there can help me. Its a bit of a long story but here goes.

My pc has been running a little slow on start up. I scanned it on www.pcpitstop.com and defragmented, did disk cleanup, emptied the bin and deleted temp internet files as suggested.

It also said that the network connection, modem and nvidia geforce graphic drivers need updating. I tried to do this and managed to get the recommended driver for the geoforce. Couldn't update network connection so loaded drivermax and got the update. I also loaded Spybot S&D and a newer version to replace adaware.

I already have avg anti virus and sygate firewall.

Anyway, the upshot is that it ran even slower with Spybot and Adaware seeming to run all the time. So in the end I removed them. This still didn't improve the situation so I restored to a system restore earlier in June. This didn't improve so I retored to the beginning of April.

After reading this forum "help I think my pc is infected" i've installed and run quick scans on Superantispyware and malwarebytes anti malware. There were 5 items on one to remove and 4 on the other.

For some time, my OH cannot view his videos on his F1 webpage. I've also had trouble getting itunes to load. It had previously been installed and was working fine.

I tried to download itunes several times and it fails because quicktime doesn't install. I've managed to install the last but one version of quicktime and it seemed to install ok. Tried latest version of itunes (tried 32 bit version - not sure if that's correct) and it installs almost completely then again says quicktime didn't intall properly.

Do you think my pc is infected? I hope I don't have to format the hard drive as I've done this on a pc that I want to sell and now there is no sound and no internet connection despite having a full set of recovery disks supplied by dell (by the way, pc used to belong to DS who installed vista beta version which overwrote the part of the hard drive to restore factory settings).

Phew! sorry for the long post. These computers are doing my head in. I can understand only enough to mess it up but not enough to put it right. Am I best getting an "expert" in to sort out both pc's bearing in mind I will get peanuts for the other pc which will only just cover the amount I am hoping to sell the other pc for?

Is there a problem with itunes? I've got a load of music in there that I can't access.

Is my pc infected?

Many thanks
