Agree withe sentiment that it is not always the retailers fault, but also that any retailer worth his salt should know the value of return business and the fact that good service brings this plus recommendations to other people.
Of course, shoddy retailing can work in our favour too, like the above person who got a free tv plus £100 worth of vouchers.
My brother had a similar thing where he purchased a DVB TV/DVD package, but when he got home the tv did not have a DVB tuner, but an analogue one. He complained, they delivered a DVB one when they came back into stock, but the delivery man had nothing on his sheet about picking a tv up, so my bro hid it out the back and still has it!! 2 Sony widescreen TV's for the price of one! and who was this incompetent retailer? you guessed it - Curry's
So does he avoid them? No, he treats them with care, always on the look out for a deal due to their incomptetence, and lets everyone he knows know so we can benefit too!
what goes around, comes aroundTalon "Ace" Karrde

I went into the currys store in Milton Keynes to buy a pc. I found a salesman and asked him to help me choose a pc. Simple enough except he wouldn't even look me in the eye. I asked the questions and he told my boyfriend the answers.
Do I smell? Have I got 2 heads or some form of disease that makes his eyes burn if he looks at me? NO! (At least I hope not!)
So, I buy a refurbished £560 pc from Currys online. (It was the best spec for the money). Within the first 2 weeks of me having it I've had to do at least 3 system restores and the thing still kept crashing. System error 32, File corrupt or missing.
After the helpline fobbing me off with excuses FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS saying "oh, it does that sometimes, nothing to worry about, just restore it again" I take it to my IT dept at work. Hmmm a faulty hard-drive or motherboard.
I inform currys helpline and they order the parts. 1 MONTH LATER the parts arrive and they're faulty. Another month later they can't get the right part as it's in Holland!! So, I've now been unable to use my pc for 2 months.
Finally they agree I can choose a new pc. Yippee.
OH NO! My NEW monitor doesn't work!!!! Arrrgggh. So I use the monitor from the old system they still haven't got round to collecting.
Ok so I have a new hard-drive that works? Check. A working monitor? Check. A new working keyboard? Nope Spacebar doesn't work!
Order a new keyboard and still waiting for them to collect the broken one. The good news is my mouse still works! THE ONLY ORIGINAL PIECE OF EQUIPMENT SINCE AUGUST 2004.
I complained to head office and I got a bog standard reply of "I'm sorry you've had difficulty I hope everything is ok now."
So my advice to add to the debate is:
STAY AWAY FROM CURRYS UNLESS YOU DON'T WANT TO USE THE ITEM YOU PURCHASE!My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely0
