Has anyone else noticed that the 'new' benefits are suspiciously similar to the old benefits.
Barclaycard are being tight and in my humble opinion a bit stupid. I register for the extended warranties - but haven't actually had to use one yet - so it costs them diddly. This benefit has already been erroded once - it used to be free for purchases over £25 now it's only for those over £150
I have used the price match on and off.
I've been a customer for 12 years during which they'e had 10s of 1000s of pounds through the account.
I'll now consider moving CC providers. I don't appreciate having the benefits removed and no significant new ones replacing them. In a wonderful free market aren't levels of service/benefits supposed to increase due to competition?
I suspect that the CC providers are losing money due to increased levels of fraud and so simply want to reduce their costs.
I also wasn't impressed by their widely criticised O% jiggery-pokery, they make enough money for old rope without seeking to lengthen it.
If anyone knows of a CC offering price match and extended warranty that looks as though it's there to stay - please can you post back.
ThanksI do hope you're telling the truth?0 -
Oh and when I write to cancel my account I'll make sure to state;
a)Why
b)How I'll no longer recommend them to anyone (I have to 4 people who have taken up accounts)
c)That I'll advise those 4 people to switch to alternate providers, once I've found a suitable one.
Perhaps if they get a few thousand cancellations they might reaslise the error of their ways. A new CC is after all only a call away these days.I do hope you're telling the truth?0
