The BA wage bill is £2.1bn a year.So the average staff member is on £225 per day then? I have my doubts somehow......
Rob
This includes Employers NI remember.
Approx average salary of about £45k. That makes sense given that all the pilots (3,000 of them) will be above that. And most management will be on that and above.
As I said, my maths is not at question here.0 -
my wife just got 1 year unpaid leave from BA... the last bunch got a free business class ticket for taking unpaid leave:(0

I would expect shares in BA instead of working for nothing. That way, shareholders do not have to find the money to pay me now but give up some future profits instead. Why, I wonder, did BA not offer this?0

The staff who have volunteered to work for free are mugs, I'm sorry to say. They possibly think they will somehow be less likely to be selected for redundancy, believe that and you will believe anything.0

Its not as easy as just handing out share certificates...... far more complex and therefore not cost efficent.0 -
Just delayed slightly. End of the day they are just a number...... mugsbristol_pilot wrote: »The staff who have volunteered to work for free are mugs, I'm sorry to say. They possibly think they will somehow be less likely to be selected for redundancy, believe that and you will believe anything.
I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -

Yeah, they'd have to register the new shares with companies house too. I'm sure that the complexity of filling out the forms would wipe out the cost savings...0 -
If i worked for a smaller company which fell on hard times and they had been fair with me,I'd do my bit to help them out. I wouldnt do it for a large corporate company though. Some of them are wasteful, inefficient and dont mind battering their lower ranked workers so that the higher ranks can live a comfortable life riding on their backs. No,dont do it>mugs.0

Put them in Travelodges instead of swanky central hotels on stop overs, that may cut a few quid.
Why do they also need to be put up for 2 to 4 days abroad before being sent back home?0
