I would love the opportunity to see just how little gas + leccy me and the wife could use if there was just us living here now we know what we know (before we had kids we weren't in the slightest bit interested in how much we used but TBF it was 20 years ago!). i suppose we will be able to see when (if??) the kids ever fly the nest but we may be so old then we will need the heating on even in Summer, lol.
TBH, if you are sensible about it, I reckon you could get by on maybe £60 a month for gas and electric combined. Not having kids makes this target much easier to reach.
PS A water meter is deffo the way to go for a 2 person household also. I believe you now get 24 months to decide if it's for you. A no-brainer.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Hi,
Congratulations for the new house. I was in the same situ. when i moved in last september. I started meter reading every week, in winter gas-elec. duel fuel bill with e-on was around £80(gas cooking, central heating). It has gone down by 1/3-1/4 from april. I will definitely recommend wall insulation and loft insulation if you haven't got one, as I had wall insulation and it reallllllyyy makes the difference and will payback in few years(worth £200 for each, you may get cheaper if claiming benifit)0
