Could you try writing a letter to the Registered office (get from companies house website) .

Its obvious when you are told that is the height, but I didn't recognise it as that. I am wondering if you could argue that as the size was not clearly enough described, the item was not as described under SOGA?If their size chart had childrens sizes in it you could have figured it out from that.

    Stab in the dark...........but...........age bands?

My daughter's 7 but she normally wears age 9-10 clothes so you can't always rely on ages on labels.

I suppose the moral of the story is, if possible, buy one in store so they can try it on first.
The fridge is empty, the walls are damp, there's no hot water

The moral of the story is in fact do not personalise a shirt before you have tried the thing on.

I had no certain idea what these numbers meant, so I looked for a customer services number - NO NUMBER anywhere on their website! There was an email address though, so I emailed them.

3 days later, no response, so I emailed them again.

After 3 further days, with no other way I could find to contact them, I ordered it,

So you tried to contact them, got no response. Tried again, got no response, and then you went ahead and ordered from them!!! Please use better judgement in the future. There are plenty of reputable companies on the internet, give your business to one of those.

I'm sorry, but if a company hasn't got back to you within a week, and has no telephone number on their website, I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

You say that you can't rely on age labels, yet also said in the same sentence that your daughter wears 9-10 clothes. Do you not see the contradiction there at all? Providing those age labels give some indication of consistent size it doesn't matter whether the age matches up with the child or not.
