Advice With The MSE Budget Planner Please

Hi!
I'm new to the site - yes I know I've been hiding under a rock for god knows how long
Anyway, today I downloaded the MSE Budget Planner after realising this morning we've overspent this month.
I've entered all the figures in correctly as far as I can see - both income & expenses. The end result I was very surprised at - we supposedly have £156.61 spare each month. But I don't understand because this never seems the case. I've worked out our money for just over the next month or so and after paying all our bills on the 1st Aug it looks like we're going to be short by just under £40...
How can I get my finances to match the spreadsheet?! Any ideas? I'd appreciate any advice you have.
