apparently starting today is the roll out of BT 8mb broadband - https://www.faster.bt.com
have looked an registered here but not certain whether my 512 is even going to increase. hey ho yet another bt upgrade that misses out the those who have low speeds.

It's already started. I was upgraded yesterday
Could only get 1meg before, now getting anything between 4 and 5meg. Line is a bit dodgy at the higher speeds. After 10 days of fluctuating the speed, BT will see which one works best for your line and lock it in at that. I think I will be closer to 4Meg.0 -

BT option 4 is up to 8mb option 3 goes 8mb as of the 11th april
you must need to live next to the exchange to get 8mb I can get 6.5mb according to checks and the exchange is 160 meters away. Im on a business package now but there are no upgrade options at the moment.
they did some tests a few nights ago and my router was reporting 7.1mb0 -
Just noted this on the BT Faster page; "You simply take out a new 12 month term on the agreed date when it's activated."
Hmmmm... I wonder if that is the same in the case of other ISPs.0 -

Just checked with my provider, Madasafish. They don't lock you into another contract.
Clearly another nasty trick by BT.0
