www.thebattleshop.co.uk - problems with refund

Hi all,

Has anyone used:
http://www.thebattleshop.co.uk/

I can't find any reviews of them on the internet.

Ordered a board game from them as they were the only place that appeared to sell it (everywhere else out of stock).

However, I wasn't sent the item and days later the item was off their website.

They agreed to give a refund, but I am not sure if they did that to drag the process out.

As I paid via PayPal, PayPal don't want to know as its now past 45 days.

Either way, not at all happy!

AMO

I ordered the item at the start of May. Hadn't arrived by the end of May so I emailed them. It was around £16. It was an item that were pretty much sold out elsewhere so I took a gamble on this website - wish I hadn't!!! A few days later it was no longer on their website although I got a despath email.

Anyway, they said they would refund around 3 weeks ago. Now I'll have to order it from abroad.

    Hi,

Well it might be that you have to wait 28 days ... might be in t&cs ... so give it another week .... then email / phone every day ... hassle them.

In my experience it is always a hassle and can be very difficult to get a refund via Paypal. If you fund Paypal from a credit card you can claim a dispute, Paypal won't be happy ............................

so that is a bonus. :rotfl:

I'll have to hassle PayPal further. The Battleshop appear to have gone bust. Their emails bounce and their website is not functioning.

Problem with PayPal is because I spent a long time talking to The Battleshop, they consider the problem closed because I didn't open a dispute with them early enough. Not sure how I can get around that. Any ideas?

    Thanx

Sorry to advise you that claim with Paypal must be made within 45 days. If the company has gone bust I doubt you would get anything from Paypal anyway.

    My suggestions for the future:
    1. Always fund Paypal by credit card
    2. Use different accounts for buying and selling on eBay
    3. Unless seller refunds immediately, always raise dispute with EBay / Paypal. NB: The sooner you start the process, sooner it gets resolved.
