Expensive Item Insurance

Can anyone advise me the most effective way to insure an individual item such as an expensive piece of jewellery. Are there products on the market specifically for this or do most people just do this via house contents?

I currently don't have any house contents insureance, living in rented accomodation.

Any help appreciated.

You can identify specific pieces of jewellery or items on a contents policy.

Worth checking out hiscox insurance too - they do policies particularly for people with higher value belongings.
