in Credit cards
I have a Halifax credit card and they offered me 0% on purchases from the 16th Feb til 31st May.Then in March they added another deal onto the account 0% on purchases from April 1st til July 31th.Now I wasnt informed these were two seprate offers I was just under the impression I had until 31st July to pay off all transactions from the 16th Feb,but Halifax are saying I should have paid off my balance from 16th Feb to 31st March by 31st May.They are charging me interest on all purchases I made between 16th Feb to 31st March. The problem I have is that I did a balance transfer onto the account at 3.94% life of balance, now instead of paying just that off I'll be paying off the higher apr off first which is the purchases. Is there anything I can do as Halifax werent budging today.
Any advice greatly apprechiated.

I am confused. What you have explained in the first 2 lines is correct so you understood it.
"I have a Halifax credit card and they offered me 0% on purchases from the 16th Feb til 31st May.Then in March they added another deal onto the account 0% on purchases from April 1st til July 31th"
You therefore havent been screwed over0 -
What Im saying is I wasnt sent these offers by post they just appeared on my account. No one informed me they were serprate offers. If Id known they were I'd have paid off what I needed to by end of May.They have messed up more than screwed me by adding another deal to the account that over lapped the other.Whats the point having two deals running that are the same? It just confuses the matter as it took around 10 different Halifax workers to figure out what was going on.Also theyve admitted to make an error in charging me interest from the 16th Feb til 31st May as I had the other offer starting on the 1st April which goes until the 31st July.
Anyway I'll be taking my buisness to Barclaycard now as they have a 6.9% lob offer and I have nothing on that card so Halifax can get stuffed.0 -
First offer had to be paid of by 31st May
The purchases referenced in this statement fall into that category. They are charging me interest on all purchases I made between 16th Feb to 31st March.
You havent been screwed over, sorry0 -
Do you also have 0% on balance transfers? Are they asking interest for that?0

Like I said above maybe not screwed over, but offering me 2 offers at the same time did confuse matters as when I had the offer up until May 31st I was all ready to pay it off before then.In hindsight I should have covered myself and paid what was owing up until March 31st.They have however made an error and charged me interest for all purchases from Feb 16th til May 31st,I'll be interested to see if they have sorted that out when they send me the interest break down.I very much doubt it.0 -

3.94% life of balance.
I'll be moving all debt over to Barclaycards offer of 6.9% life of balance. Will cost me a few quid extra than the 3.94%,but better than leaving it on Halifax and paying the 13.93% on purchases.Ive learnt a lesson thats for sure.0 -
So you did purchases AND balance transfer on the same card?
Oh dear. I think you need to read Martin's guide about credit cards, because rule number one is:
NEVER EVER SPEND ON BALANCE TRANSFER CARD.
you do need to transfer everything away, otherwise you will be paying interest on puchases for the life of the debt.0 -

lol Ive learnt my lesson and will not touch the Barclaycard I'm moving this lot on to.They have me over a barrel on this one so I'll except defeat and move my debt.0
