Laptop Advice Needed Please

Options
I am going to buy a laptop after looking for quite awhile but am not sure out of 3 which one to get, my main worry is that 2 dont have a dedicated graphics card. I am mainly going to use it for work (Office, excel, auotCAD), but also watching films and paying games, any advice or opinions on the 3 below would be appreciated.

Well i have the 5024wlmi - it's the one up from that one with a 256mb graphics card & 100gb hard drive - I am very happy with the machine.

I managed to get it for £630 but most places are out of stock now as it's end of line.

You can read an excellent review of it here:

If you want to play games and watch films on it then I would say that only the first one will do the job without any problems. The other two will still do the job but probably struggle. The Sony and the cheaper Acer have slower processors and the lack of a dedicated graphics card will cause problems with demanding games. It will begin to drain the system RAM (which is only 512mb) to.

I haven't been looking for deals lately but the Dell outlet website is normally very good. Back in December I got a Inspiron 9300 for half price. It was £1400 on the main website at the time and I got it for £710. The specs still look very impressive along side the ones you listed:

    1.86ghz Pentium M
    1.5gb RAM
    128mb Radeon Graphics Card
    17" wide screen
    60gb 7200rpm ultrafast hard drive
    Bluetooth
    Upgraded wifi card
    Snap on cover

The Dell outlet drops computers onto the site once per day Monday-Friday. The timing can vary from between 4am and 12pm but it is crucial because only a select few are heavily discounted. We're talking 40-50%. The others have as little as 10% off. The drop generally happens on the hour or on the half hour.

Otherwise keep a look out on Comet for a slightly higer spec pc as you get good deals there. Go through Quidco.com for 2% cashback to.
