Help I am being made redundant !

Hello,
I am a newly registered here and I have just found out I am to be made redundant. I do not have mortgage payment insurance so I am slightly panicking !
I have been onto the site 'entitledto.co.uk' and completed the questions on mortgages etc, and it has indicated I could be due approx £400.00 per week JSA.
Can this be right? It seems really high to me! All I have heard is a figure of £63.00 per week for JSA.
I have never claimed any benefits before so I am a little lost.
If this is true, it would help me sleep a bit better at night ! :money:
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Richard.

your first instincts are correct. No it could never be £400 a week,
Try the site again.
And Im sorry you lost your job. Are you aware of all your redundancy rights?make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
I think so, but I will double check the info on this site. Or do you have a link to an external source?
Cheers,

I have been onto the site again, and the same has been calculated;
Entitlement per year / per week / notes Means-tested income entitlements
JSA = £20,644.92 £395.93 JSA (income-based). The estimate includes an amount for interest payments on your mortgage. For more information see help with housing costs.
Means-tested bill reductions
Council Tax Benefit £1,216.66 £23.33 You should not have to pay Council Tax as you qualify for full Council Tax Benefit.
Total Entitlements £21,861.58 £419.26 weekly
I have keyed in ages of myself and partner (34 & 35) no current income, no savings over 6k, no pensions (eek!), Mortgage 124k, Weekly housing costs £150.00

You wont get mortgage help for many weeks, cant remember how long but maybe about 13 if not more.
(have a look at the help with housing costs you mentioned)
You might be as well going down to the CAB
(if it was £400 plus per week nobody in england would be working. :rotfl:)make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

yep you will have to wait for at least 13 weeks for any interest paymet on the mortgage according to the new rules the old rules you would have had to wait 40+ weeks to claim, the claims all do take some time to go through so you need to get your claims in asap as if you claims late you will loose out i think claims can only be backdated about 3 days and has to be a good reason0
