Not true - I paid various accounts from different accounts to make the £1500, and that was eligible for a bonus
Their T&Cs state that it must be a mandated salary of £1500+, however how this works in practise and how they 'police' this remains to be seen.

From what withnell is saying, it sounds as though you may get away with a £1500 turn over, although I'm sure i've read on here others that have tried this and failed to get the £100.

Have been a customer for nearly 20 years and found the 24/7 service convenient and consistently good quality but
.I have put this on other threads re First Direct, I have found the credit services dept a total nightmare-rude, inflexible you name it. I don't owe them a bean but it's a left over from a disastrous divorce in the mid 90s. I have been refused a Maestro to replace a Solo card-until the latter became unuseable. Recently I asked for a Visa Debit (note debit not credit) to replace the Maestro which is being phased out-refused. I am only allowed a £100 OD if I pay them £25 'arrangement fees'.Most recently I got refused a shares account. I suppose I should take the hint and move on but my daughters have HSBC accounts which means I can transfer money to their accounts instantly and the 24/7 service is excellent.

Hi again, and thank you all for your feedback! Going to go ahead with it once the start of the monh DDs gave came out of my Abbey account. Just one question, there is not an HSBC nearby so do FD provide paying-in slips to post cheques to them? That would be my only reason for not switching if I couldn't post cheques in to them. Thanks all!

Yes, they provide paying in slips and envelopes to send cheques away to be credited to your account. The envelopes used to be pre-paid envelopes, but they now require you to affix a stamp.
