Either get the Salvation Army or other furniture-collecting charity to have it, or ring your council - they will often take away large items for free or a small charge.0

It doesnt matter how bad the furniture is you can freecycle it as folks like collecting stuff and love projects.0

In my area people are really picky about what they will pick up but it could go for freecycle. Will post on a couple and see if I can get rid of it before I go down the bill-back route.
Cheers for everyone's advice, think this is pretty much what I expected but thought best to check before I give someone the unit and then find out it was some vintage family heirloomMortgage Free since January 2018!0 -
I was left with some unwanted items when I bought this house, including the most disgusting, dirty cooker you could ever see. I'd particularly stated before completion that this item was to be removed & was very dismayed to find that it was left for me to have to dispose of. This was going to cost me money for both the disconnection & then the removal.
I got my solicitor to write to them about this & some other bulky items of pure junk they had left & it did bring the response of an offer of £25. I wrote back to say that I felt disgusted as this wouldn't even pay for the cooker disconnection, let alone the removal of this & the other large items that I'd need somebody to dismantle & take away.
The return communication from vendor's was basically, stuff you, we're not even offering £25 now & it's your problem. My solicitor told me it wasn't really worth the stress in trying to pursue it through court. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Why would you need to pay to have the cooker disconnected?
People do leave odd stuff though, thinking you might want it. I had a complete roof's worth of spare heavy roofing tiles in my loft.It was fun bringing all of them down on the ladder

I would recommend freecycling them and be done with it!0
