Will call them now before it gets too late; will they ask about

    1 .. Previous/existing debts
    2 .. BR History
    3 .. CCJ's

Just so I know what to expect from the other end of the line

Thanks, round the bend, they are not one of my creditors and I'll tell them I'm just about to commence the BR procedure

They are completly non judgemental and you can tell them you are opening your account for post BR. They will want to know your past address's and your current bank details to confirm who you are.

  • There is no credit check, so those questions should not apply (but have not done it myselfe so may be wrong)

The one thing to watch is to make sure the person you speak to knows WHY you want the basic account.

Some have tried to sneak through BR's on the next account up, which does require a credit check, and of course it was refused, so just watch for that;)
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(

When i rang up and applied the lady on the phone mentioned she had most of my details as i have a credit card with them owing £6k and this has been included into my BR as i told her.

Still got the card and account within 7 days

That's unusual fooman, they generally refuse if you have had previous debt with them. Well done you.

Thanks everybody, no problem but they said this account could be frozen pre BR ? I'm doing this now to transfer my salary and d/ds over in case the current account I have with RBS who will be part of the BR gets frozen again (due to defaulting on my loan with them) but, in all fairness, the RBS man who unlocked my account realised I had a repayment problem and unlocked it on the promise I would get some advice which I received from you good folks and the nice people at CCCS
