Vectra Climate Control

I'm having problems with the climate control on my Vectra CDX Estate, the temperature regulator no longer works and the only way I can get heat or demist is by putting the digital dial to max, which is fine for a while but is noisy. Then when the car is like a sauna, I have to turn it off to let it cool down.

It sounds and feels expensive to have sorted out at a garage, could it be something simple which I could sort out myself?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd go round the Vauxhall garage and ask them what it might be and then source any spare parts from a scrap yard or reconditioned and then DIY fit it or get a back street garage to do it.

Cheers, I'll probably end up doing that, just wondering if anybody has had a similar problem that they've managed to sort themselves.

The car is only 3 years old so not sure if any scrap parts may be available.
