Cheap International Calls From Hotels

Many apologies, because I know this information is probably out there already but I wouldn't know where to begin looking....

Does anyone know if the cheap international phone calls listed on the main site are accessible from Hotels?

I have a friend coming over from the States and I can see for example that by calling the listed number for 1paminute (for example) he would be able to call home for 5p a minute. But does this rate still apply if he's ringing from a hotel with the usual extortionate rate they charge? Would it be treated as a local call?

The call price listed on the main site are normally those charged from a BT Line.

If he was ringing from a Hotel they would probaly charge an arm an a leg to call 0844/0845/0871 access numbers.

If your talking about a service that uses a 01/02/03 access number that would depend on what the hotel charge you to call it.It wouldnt normally be BT,s rate.

If you have an old unlocked mobile phone he could get a Lebara Payg sim and phone USA for 4p a minute.

This is a pretty useful gadget I got the other day for calling abroad, as long as you have internet access.

    It's called a Euvox stick..

    Works for me!

His only other MSE post also mentions that company so the possibility certainly exists!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
