Can I cancel a Carpetright order?

I ordered a carpet from carpetright on monday evening, so at the earliest the order may have been processed yesterday. I have since changed my mind and want to cancel the order. Can I cancel the order?

It was partly paid by cheque and part insurance mandate as it was an insurance claim.

I really want to cancel it as I can get a better quality carpet elsewhere.

Any help would be mostly appreciated.

    What does your paperwork say? Legally you do not have a right to cancel, but the contract may give you a cooling off period.

    there is nothing on the paperwork that I have a copy of that gives any indication. It doesn't have my signature anywhere and I don't recall signing anything. I could cancel the cheque but I would need my insurance mandate back to use as payment elsewhere.

    Have you actually tried calling them and asking them if you can cancel?
    If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands
