Just googled local branch which is 20 miles away but might give them a call beforehand to see if they can clean it.

Asked woman at Morrisons if I should take it to specialist which obviously got her back up as she retorted that they were. She was so narky I'm thinking about putting in a complaint.

Thanks soo much for help xx

thats fine sweetheart, but if you call before hand all they will say is that they need to see it, ask yourself does it really need a clean? of just a freshen up? if it is stained/marked etc then the cleaner will not use any chemical on it as this will cause it to run and unlikely to remove any markings other than grease based (not animal or water based, e'g blood, wine etc), also cleaning in the perc or flurocarbon chemicals will not illiminate any smell. if it just needs freshening up hang outside securely in a shaded but windy area, an old tip i have known people use is to lightly use talc inside the garment too. you may even want to see if the lining is detachable ( a decent seamstress will be able to do this), as it is polyester it is fully machine washable

If you have to take it so far to even try cleaning, then that seems a bit unfair.QUOTE]

Karen Millen are actually one of the better brands, the dye on the silk is probably properly set, and if its white wine or clear mixer and spirits, the aforementione cpu should be able to clean, if not take back to karen millen and be a proverbial pain in the !!!! till you get your money back.

if no joy at any and only if exausted everything else and you just give up try the following; fill a sink with cold water, add a tsp of vinigar (any) and a spot of washing up liquid (any) and immerse dress till fully wet, do not soak. then drip dry, ideally with the light part of the dress at the top. the vinegar stops the dye from running and the washing up liquid disperses the stain, it will not remove it but you will not see it. i have used this numerous times and have never seen a colour run, also silk does not shrink. but please do not try this until you have tried other options as once you do the onus is on you.

    good luck

this is a good idea, and they may well do this but if they do and the marks dont come out or the dress is damaged the onus will then be back on KM, so as such may not recommend. through previos experience i have learnt that if km recommend 1 cleaner then km are almost vouching for their service but if the recommend several (3 or more) then it is customers choice.
