Help with cancelling a finished auction

Hi,
I was hoping someone could help me out. I bought tickets for a concert (which would involve a weekend away), but then they announced a concert near to where I live, so I bought tickets for that.
I listed my original tickets on eBay, I just want to get my money back. It was listed as an auction, but with Buy It Now as well. Well this is typical of my luck, today, I managed to sell the tickets to someone at work; I'm really pleased as I get my money back, and they're really pleased as this concert is sold out. But then I got home and see that a ticket tout (obvious from their eBay name) has done Buy It Now and bought and paid
I feel terrible, although am thinking at least it is a ticket tout, not a fan that desperately wanted the tickets themselves. But my problem is, I cannot see how to cancel the auction on eBay, can I get any of my fees back? And more importantly, I can't see at all how I refund the money to the buyer via Paypal, as never had to do that before.
Please can you help? I need to send a really grovelling email to this ticket tout, and hope he doesn't leave a negative, I have a perfect record up until now. I'm really hoping he'll understand.
Many thanks.

If you do a mutual and get the buyer to agree to it then you will get your fees back, but that's the only way. I think the refund option is on the transaction page in Paypal. It's not very hard to find from what I recall.0

Thank you. I'm not sure how I 'do a mutual' either, but I'll contact the buyer and see what they say first I suppose. I did look everywhere on Paypal but haven't managed to find the 'refund' option. I could just do a payment back to the buyer, but I thought (hoped) that by doing a refund, I'd get my Paypal fees back?0

You can issue a refund for up to 60 days after the original payment was sent. PayPal refunds the payment and fees, including partial fees for partial refunds.
Issue RefundThis is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0 -
To do a mutual, you need mutual agreement.
You advertised tickets, they were sold as a BIN. You'll be lucky not to get a non performing seller strike let alone getting a mutual agreed.
Edit: you should find the paypal refund link at the bottom of the transaction page for the specific item in your paypal account"Now to trolling as a concept. .... To refund in paypal log in securely, go to the transaction page and at the foot of the transaction details there is some blurb about refund. Click that and issue your refund.
To do a mutual (and that is your only way of trying to recover fees) you need to find the item on your sold list and using the drop down menu on the RH side after the transaction details go to 'dispute' or unpaid..then opt for a mutual. Obviously though buyer cna refuse a mutual, and I imagine most would, and you are stuck with your fees and the possibility of a negative feedback.
EDIT to add, grovel grovel grovel to your buyer, this could prove an expensive mistake.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
