Hi all.I've downloaded a film and put it onto my external hard drive.I was wondering if there was a way to connect the hard drive to my Samsung Tv and watch the movie on it? It's a Samsung 22' Flat Screen, sorry don't know the model.Thanks.Josh

The short answer is no.
However if your TV has a VGA input your could use it as a monitor for your PC and paly the movie back that way.
Why not burn the movie to DVD?That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
The short answer is yes........But.....
You need something like the Western Digital TV Media player. Plugs into your TV via HDMI or composite, hard drive plugs in via USB. Probably the best piece of kit I've bought in a long time.0 -
You need 'something' that will send the movie to your tv
It can be a PS3, a computer or an external media player. But a hard drive by itself just wont do.:idea:0 -
Short answer is yes definitely you can BUT you need an external case with the right connections.
Check out these the more expensive come with drives in ready to go the cheaper ones you add your own

I've got a WDTV which works perfectly, just connect to the tv and plug in a harddisk or usb flash0

A PS3 will do it.The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

I have one of these:

It can be used as either an external HDD via USB or as a wireless network media player.
I got the empty box from Amazon (which still works as a network media streamer) and put in my own 500GB HDD, worked out much cheaper.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Depends what kind of Samsung TV you have! I recently got the LE37B650 and it accepts all sorts of different video files from a USB HDD or Pen drive. Have a look in the TV manual and also see if the TV has a USB port.0

Avoid all the rubbish you've been advised so far

Buy one of these instead: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sumvision-Cyclone-Player-Adaptor-Upscaling/dp/B002BZCE2Y save your films to data card (I'm sure you've got one of those somewhere) then plug it into the tv.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0
