EDF prepayment meter rate 1 and rate 2 are £11.95 each - is this legal!!!
First is Rate 1 = Night rate and rate 2 = day rate?
Is it legal to make both rates the more more expensive one = £11.95?
My friends' meter has rate 1 = £10.88 and Rate 2 = £4.98.
Seems very unfair I think, I know he has a debt to repay BUT screen T shows £10.00 to repay the debt and believe this?? screen F shows a charge of £11.03 to pay per week for the privelege of haviong the meter??? Totally disgraceful????
Any help on this please?

Nobody would pay £11.03 per week just for having a pre-payment meter.
It is more than likely that rate 1 (daytime) is 10.88 (pence, not pounds as you put) and rate 2 (off peak/nightime) is 4.98 pence.
And if your friend is paying a debt, then it may be set at £10 per week. Has your friend called EDF to check if they are paying a debt, and if so, how much is it being repaid at each week?0 -
You should be being charged the unit rates as per the EDF published tariff.
You can't really compare your meter with your mates. Is your mate with the same supplier? Is your mate in the same supply area? Perhaps your mate has applied for and is acceptable for a social tariff? Whatever, your mate appears to be on E7, and you appear not to be so. If EDF tariff says there is also a standing charge for pre-payment meters then you have to pay this too.
A debt repayment figure would also apply if you owe the supplier money.
Btw, the unit rates will be in pence, not pounds.
I suspect the standing charge is in pence too and applies daily (but I might be wrong on that specific)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
As far as I can see EDF charge in the order of £12 per month for a Eco7 prepayment meter and half that for a standard prepayment. This is within the ranges charged by other companies for credit meters (between £4.50 and £14 per month.)
So weekly standing charge will be either about £3 or £1.50. You may be confusing debt repayment amount with charges. The £11.03 is more likely a £10 debt repayment and a £1.03 standing charge. (Which is cheap.) (Though that isn't it either because £1.03 is a little low.)0 -
Which region are you in? You should be able to check how much standing charges are from this table:

Okay folks that's great info. I appreciate your time in answering my concerns.
However, is it leagl or justified even to charge the same for both rates?0 -

(Okay, sorry, just re-read your first line.)
Perhaps you have an Economy 7 meter but have chosen (or are mistakenly being charged) a standard non-economy 7 tariff?
