stewie_griffin has made some good points :T
I would ask E.ON for the meter readings they closed your account to, along with your usage. Check the readings match those that your account with Npower has started from and make sure the day and night reads have been entered the correct way round.
Is there a big difference in the bills from when you were with E.ON?
You could also ask E.ON for the unit prices that you were paying, check this against your current prices to see if this has made a big difference.
If the final reads with E.ON were accurate and fall in line with your previous reads and usage, it sounds like the E.ON account is correct.
