Within 3 Year Warranty but no receipt

My TFT monitor has stopped working and it is within it's 3 year warranty but I cannot find the original receipt. I notice from the back of the monitor that it was manufactured October 2006, so surely this is enough to show how old it is. What can I do please ?

Try your luck with contacting the manufacturer. They may accept your evidence as proof of its age. The worst they can say is no!
We had a kettle that broke and we couldn't find the receipt so contacted the manufacturer who asked for a number that was marked on the base. From this they were able to ascertain that our kettle was less than a certain age and therefore within warranty. We sent it back to them, and a week later a shiny new one showed up.0
