Cricket in the Dominican Republic

Much to my horror I have to go to the Dom Rep in June for 2 weeks for a wedding.

The problem is it's in the cricket season so I am not going to be able to play for my local club.

Does anyone know if any cricket is played in the Dom Rep?

I have a feeling I'm going to be tearing my hair out if I can't get to see any cricket for a whole fortnight!

Any advice gladly received.

    Hi SHG
i have been to Dom Rep 5/6 times its a lovely cheap caribbean holiday but in all that time i have never seen any cricket played, they love their baseball & plenty of volleyball is played but i have never seen any cricket thats not to say there isnt any but remember the World Cup in the W. Indies has matches in Florida but none in DOM REP & as far as i know no Dom Rep player has ever represented WI at cricket(Phil de Freitas represented England but he comes from Domenica which is actually in South America but is still classed as WI)
best of luck M8 if worst comes to the worst theres always satellite tv over their saw the excellent WI v Australia series in 1995 over there it marked the decline of the W.Indies team(they were already on a downward curve) & the emergence of a great probably greatest Aussie side
    all the best
