A little bit back for paying Stamp Duty

So I am resigned to having to pay SDLT at 3% but would like a little bit back for my trouble. HMRC accept credit cards but not AMEX - which is a pain as I collect BA miles through AMEX.
How can I get the most back by choosing the best payment method for SDLT - ideally to add to my BA miles collection?
Thanks

I didn't know that you could pay Stamp Duty via a credit card!!!
I presume that you have to return this yourself then and not let your solicitor do it???0 -
yes, you get 30 days following completion to pay. The HMRC website has details - as a new user I can't paste the link for you0

Having seen your post I was thinking it would be great if I could pay and use my 1% cashback Capital One card. Only I've just looked on the web site, and the snag is they charge 1.25% for paying via credit card, so that would wipe out my 1% cashback.
I guess if you're still in your introductory period though and have 3/4/5% cashback, then it is still well worthwhile.0
