DLA Renewal - timescale?

Does anyone know what the current timescale is for DLA renewals?

I sent mine in 20th Apr, which I got an acknowledgement for but havent heard anything else. My award is up in September, but Im starting to get jittery about how time is passing with nothing from them.

My father gets DLA, he renewed in March (around Easter time if i remember correctly - his would've run out in August sometime) He has heard back only last week and all is ok. They wrote to say someone would come to see him then got his renewal letter, we called and was told no one needed to come out anymore?!? HTH

The quoted figure is 11 weeks but I have certainly read about renewals taking longer recently. I think you will be ok though as you still have a fair amount of time left. You could ring them to check on the progress.

I sent my renewal pack back around St Patrick's Day, they asked my GP for a report a week later and 3 weeks later I had my decision letter.

My son was told that if he hadn't heard anything within 12 weeks, to give them a ring. But as far as I can make out from talking to people, they give priority to the renewals that are coming up to the date for the claim expiring.

But if you are concerned, give them a ring.
