Virgin Credit Card query

A few months back i applied for a virgin credit card. This was accepted and I received my card and then my husband decided to apply for one and the application was declined. Would this have been because I had just taken one out? I have had the card for about 5 months now, so if he applied again is it more likely that he would be accepted? I have used my card well and have never missed a payment....

thanks

Gem

Both me and my OH have taken our Virgin cards simultaneously in the past so that alone shouldn't have hindered his application.
