on what grounds are the banks appealing?

Yes i think youll find im joking hence laugh out loud ..
The arguments in the HOL do seem to suggest that the reason to appeal is to keep the free in credit model going ie, we charge you so someone else doesn't get charged.0 -

Many countries outside the UK charge a monthly fee for having a bank account so if we follow suit it would make us in line with the rest.0
