Any London renters? Question about costs

Obviously if this is in the wrong place please feel free to tell me to move it...

Anyhoo, long story short: Just finished uni in York (graduate next month), now living at home with parents in Lancashire. Met boyfriend of two years whilst at university. Boyfriend is now living in London (where he is from) and is living in his mum's flat with a flatmate whilst his mum is living with his grandparents after coming back from Riyadh.

So, my plan - by no later than late September/mid October - is to move down to London. For various reasons I'm not moving in permanently with the boyfriend but he has offered to let me stay with him whilst I job hunt. However, he has a friend whose flatmate's job allows her (the flatmate not the friend) to move back to her parents' house, and he has told the friend that if they don't find anyone else I'm interested in the room once I have a paying wage.

The flat is in Finsbury Park and is £110 a week excluding bills. I haven't actually seen it yet - will hopefully be doing that when I go to visit my boyfriend this weekend - but was just wondering how that compares to prices in other areas? I have rented before but only when I was at uni (terraced house at £58/week and semi at £66/week) so have no idea whether £110/week in London is good or bad!

Apologies for the long post, and thanks for your help!

depends on the size of room & facilites.
Try looking on gumtree, spare room & other flat share websites for comparisons.

just seen your sig about boots points. get over to the boots thread, & the experts there will probably have ways to get 1000 points by the end of the day, along with atleast 3 bags full of free stuff ;)
By xmas, you should have enough points to buy atleast one branch of boots :D

Find out how big the room is, and try and get some photos of the room, kitchen, bathroom and living area sent to you.

For an average size room (12ft * 10ft) with reasonable communal areas, I would say that the price quoted sounds about right for Finsbury Park.

Yo will also need to consider how near it is to the tube, and whether this is important to you.
