Not really! Do you mean a DSLR? I.e. interchangeable lenses? If so, I wouldn't bother as you probably wouldn't use all its features. What is your budget and what do you want from a camera, other than to take really good pics!

At the end of the day a cr4p photographer will still take a cr4p photo even with the best of kit and a good photographer will still get a great shot out of a mediocre camera as at the end of the day you still an eye for detail and at least some talent.
What is your budget, £300 or £3k?0 -

Is that Q for real? Makes no sense.0 -
If you know nothing about cameras then you'll struggle to take really good photos.
Really good photos will have more user input (ie manual settings) than fully automatic. So if you know very little then you won't know how to use manual settings.
What's your budget?.....0 -
I think what they're trying to say is:
It take more than good gear and you'll be wasting your money if you don't have an eye for it or the talent to make a good photo out of nothing.
Kinda like when I used to play golf with my custom built set of clubs worth about £300, i'd regularly !!!! all over the "all the gear and no idea" crowd who'd paid £1500+ for the latest kit.
This is money saving expert afterall.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

You'll need to deviate and check out the camera forums like steve's digicams et al
Or you could just buy something like this:
http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/4-/8804837/Panasonic-Lumix-FS7-10-1-Megapixel-Digital-Camera/Product.html?P36=EP6C6D I've no idea if it's a good camer or a bad camera, but I've a mate with a similar camera and he's never dissapointed with his shots, points clicks and moves on. His Fathers a wedding photographer too with all the kit, but seriously, you don't need it you just need a good automatica camera.

http://forum.digitalcamerareview.com/
Or you could maybe go through something like this:
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/compare.asp
http://www.neocamera.com/
Which should make choosing a suitable camera easier, this assumes you're ok with the terminology of course
Don't worry about the other responses, photographers can sometimes be a bit 'anal' for the want of a better word. Well so I'm advised, and so I've seen above

HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
You have to learn how to take good photos on your current camera before you can buy a better one.
That way you know how the extra functions will improve your shots becuase you can appreciate what they do and currently don't do on your camera.0 -
