Better check ur facts mate. you are quoting "Capital One". quite a few providers allow you to have multiple cards with their branding!!. most providers who issue VISA & Mastercard will allow you to have one card under each. e.g lloyds tsb, MBNA to name a few.

infact providers who have American express will allow 3!! again i will quote lloyds tsb.

FYI ...from the lloyds tsb website...
    ********************************************
The Lloyds TSB Airmiles Duo Credit Card account comes with two cards, an Airmiles Duo American Express® Card and an Airmiles Duo MasterCard.
    ********************************************

So please check ur facts first. I would expect even capital one would allow two cards as they do give mastercard and visa as seperate products!!. WIll check with them and post it here!

FACT: The above cards you are refering two are of the same account, as I have them, so it is still technically one account, LLoyds say, and I quote: You can apply for another credit card, but you have to surrender the card you originally have, Nationwide say, and I quote: we have two cards, one gold and one classic, you can have ONE or THE OTHER, so NO you cannot have TWO Classic Cards, or TWO Gold Cards. Capital one state: If you are an existing Capital One card holder, please DO NOT re-apply. Barclaycard allow you to have a Visa and Mastercard, as do RBS, the post originally states that the OP has applied for two Vanquis Cards, and what I am saying is, you cannot have two cards from that company, FACT, their customer services state: You can only have one account at a time, if you are an existing customer DO NOT RE-APPLY.

lol - or maybe we just ignore gazelle? He is simply wrong.

And you can shut up as well, if people do not make their posts clear, then that is their problem. Writing messages clearly avoids confusion, but in this case no confusion, the original message states, applied for two Vanquis Cards, and what I was saying was, you cannot have two Vanquis Cards, but if Vanquis are acting as agents for another card provider, then this may be possible, but the post didn't say that did it?

I had 2 Capital One cards, they offered the second one to me themselves.

Perhaps they need to read their own T&C's too :rotfl:

    "Had", you had two cards-:

Capital One DO NOT offer secondry cards to people who already have an account with them, you have to close one account, and re-apply for the second, so either they have "cocked up" or you perhaps have two accounts with them, one being as an additional card holder. FACT, as informed to me by Capital One Customer Services this morning, as I have asked for two cards numerous times, and this is NOT possible.

    Dear Gazelle,

Despite your protests, I had 2 cards with Captial One, I had one card, they then approached me and offered me another card. The two accounts run concurrently, with 2 separate cards, and 2 separate account numbers, and 2 separate direct debits, both accounts were in my name and I was not an additional card holder.

Capital One were aware I had 2 accounts as when I changed bank accounts from HSBC to Barclays I gave them new DD details for BOTH accounts in the same phone call.

I had the first account for a total of 5 years, the second for 3.5 years, the only reason I 'had' them and do not 'have' them is that the accounts were closed last year when I was made bankrupt, incidently not owing Capital One a penny. If that had not been the case both accounts would still be open today.

    FACT

I do hope that helps to make things clearer for you.

You must have been a model customer then!!

As this is going back so far, then I cannot comment onto the whys and where fors, however, they certainly WILL NOT and DO NOT allow two cards to run side-by-side now, so if you were to re-apply, you will find it is either one card, or the other. For those of you who DO happen to have the rather rare "two" capital one cards, then The Gazelle wishes you luck in the running of them, as I can assure you like most things, nothing lasts forever!

Oh, and The Gazelle appreciates your letter writing style, Dear Gazelle, it does have an endearing ring about it don't you think?:j:beer::T:rotfl:

Mate chill out! I think we've learned that what the OP actually done was have a Vanquis and then apply for one of the Otto Group Cards (Freemans for instance) and they are issued by Vanquis (#20 ). Maybe just maybe the OP missed that part - we all agree that Vanquis don't allow multiple cards - but some issuers do (MBNA/HSBC/Barclays/RBS/Citi/Halifax/Sygma/GE Money/Santander - the list goes on).

Barclaycard do indeed allow various cards, for instance SkyCard is issued by Barclays, Thomas Cook Card is issued by Barclays, Barclaycard is issued by Barclays and my mate has all three - seen them with my own eyes earlier today.

RBS also do indeed allow various cards, for instance RBS card, Natwest card and Tesco card.

    HSBC - M&S / HSBC Credit Card
Halifax - One Card / Affinity card such as RSPCA / Sainsbury etc
Citi - BMI Card / Citi Card
Sygma - Accessory and Flybe cards

See where i'm coming from here.....? Then you see Vanquis linked to Freemans and it could be easily missed.

    Hi

The Gazelle is much Calmer now!!

I apologize for telling you to "Shut up" earlier, but the OP didn't make clear that Vanquis were acting for the other card, the OP just said they applied for two Vanquis Cards, which you kindly confirmed you could not have.

I have not heard of the said card in question that Vanquis sponsor, so it is a learning tool for me, I do know that certain banks let you have multiple cards, but others don't, as I have had two cards myself with the same banks, Barlcays and RBS. In the end though, you did manage to solve the said post, so for that at least I thank you.

    DON'T PATRONIZE ME!!!

You cannot apply for the same account TWICE!!!

I suggest you read some Credit Card TERMS and CONDITIONS and it clearly states, if you have already got a card with us DO NOT RE APPLY!

It tells me that you would be the type that would have for example a Capital One Card, and then apply for the same card again, I think the only application you should be making is for logic and sense.

Barclaycard have offered me a cashback card to go along with my existing card - indeed they have a section on the website with a couple of second cards available for existing customers!
