Multi-Fuel Stove

Just wondering I purchased a multi-fuel burning stove from B&Q and have had problems with the glass cracking on several occasions.
Can you burn ordinary coal in these stoves or is there special coal for it?

Normal coal is fine, the glass shouldn't crack sounds like there is a issue with that stove
I normally burn logs on mine obviously not at this time of year but I have used coal, I tend to avoid it as its a dirty fuel compared with logs but you do get better heat from coal0
