does your partner work more than 24 hours a week if so then no0

would i not be entitled to any benefits at all when my partner starts work? Its proving very hard for me to find work at the minute, and she will only be clearing £700 a month max and our rents £430 so thats £270 for us to live on and thats not taking out bills etc.
i'm just a bit worried that we'll not be able to afford the house etc as housing benefit is paying for it at the minute.0 -

Do you mean that you're claiming JSA? You shouldn't be claiming ESA if you're able to work!0 -
I am claiming JSA at the minute, but i've heard that once my partner starts work, i won't be able to claim anymore. I am just asking about ESA as income support if my partner starts work, not as a sick pay, as i assumed by employment and support allowance it would help people with low income and as i said, my girlfriend won't be earning a lot and the amount we have to live on after the bills etc are paid is over £100 less per month than what we are getting with the benefits.
I don't really know much about the benefits and this is why i am asking. I'm not trying to outdo people of money, i am just asking for myself.0 -
if you over 25 you can get wtc0

You are mistaken about ESA and income support, these are not for people in your situation.
You can apply for LHA, CTC and if you are over 25 and she is working 30 hours per week of more WTC.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I'm only 23 so i take it there's nothing for me then??
I am really trying to get a job, i'm applying all the time, but don't seem to be having much luck. Hoping somehting comes up before she starts but if not, would i still be entitled to some housing benefit?0 -

You can still claim local housing allowance and council tax credit though the rules are also diffrent for LHA if you are under 25.0 -
