Gym Memebership- not fulfilling promises

I am a member of a gym, the Gym is a well known one with many branches. The thing that annoys me is I am paying the full rate but when i go to the gym, both near work and the one near home there are always machines out of order.

The showers have mouldy curtains broken tiles and with the number of machines out of order your regularlily have to wait to use a machine now.

I feel like i am not getting what i signed up for, is it possible to break this contract?

Did you have a proper look round the gym before you signed the contract?
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Have you mentioned anything to them? I'd say first port of call is to bring up in a friendly manner and see what they say. If they pretty much tell you to !!!! off the I'd get in to letter writing mode and ultimately you can go elsewhere. A bit of ammunition in the bank in the form of a letter/email can be valuable in getting out of a contract.

I'm in a slightly different boat. My gym is well maintained but in the sales pitch they made a big thing of how the staff would help you with your training plan and inductions on machine and by and large my experience is the staff have very little time for customers and the idea of inducting someone on new equipment or refining their training programs is a big pain the you know where for them as it stops them playing on the internet ;)
