Ok, as promised, I am back to report on the BBQ pack!

The sausage were HUGE! & they didn't lose size being cooked. They looked really nice & everyone that had one said they were really tasty! But I couldn't believe the amount of fat that came out of them! Due to the weather we had the party in the house instead and cooked the BBQ food in the oven, both the burgers and the sausages ended up floating in their own grease! Not too bad for the sausages, but the burgers actually looked greasy.
However, they were apparently very tasty! Everyone wolfed them down & asked for seconds, so that's gotta be a good sign! lol
There was chicken drumsticks in the pack too. When i took out the bag and opened them up the first thing I saw was a feather still attached to one of the drumsticks! They didn't look very meaty, a lot of bone poking out the ends. In the end we decided not to use them, but the sausages and burgers were big hits! Hope this helps someone! :) Thanks for all your comments! xxx

We always shop in Iceland for BBQ food, WW meals and icecream.

Just a little, slightly-off-topic note; It surprised me to learn that almost aqll Iceland ice cream has some form of nut or nut oil in it - Even basics like vanilla, so those with allergies would do well to carefully check the ingredients!

We had one of those iceland packs on Friday for a bbq, sausages were huge and really tasty, didn't try a burger but they looked a really good size, people said they were nice as well. Chicken legs had lots of meat on and were nice too, so seemed good value to me, just make sure you cook them for longer because they're quite thick and you don't want to poison everyone ;). We also bought the 24 kebabs pack for a fiver but I wasn't impressed with that really, the chicken ones were quite small, lots of plastic packaging and not much food.

Have had several of these packs now and never been disappointed, the burgers are really nice and don't shrink nor do the sausages, not a great drumstick fan myself but there's never been any left so they are ob. good, yesterday I got the ribs and wings pack too although I would argue they were wings (but still very nice) but I wasn't too keen on the ribs though.

Just been to Tesco and they have a 40 piece BBQ pack in the freezer section for a fiver, with burgers, sausages and chicken drumsticks. The website says it's a special purchase valid until 07/07/09. HTH someone :)

I'm sure the Iceland deal is OK however I now refuse to buy from Iceland since they have that dodgy Kerry Katona advertising for them! Grrr

The Iceland bbq pack is tasteless and full of water like all Iceland meat.

I'd stay away from this pack..most of the meat contains a large amount of low quality product (what my brother calls "Tooter"). I find it quite unpalatable, but others in my family like it, so it's all a matter of taste.

  • I used the Iceland one for my daughters birthday bbq. It was ok for the money but I wouldn't do it for my own friends lol, it was a little bit 'cheap' tasting - good value for money though.

Im guessing it probably tastes OK given all the things they add to it but if you going for anything remotely fresh and healthy its probably not adviseable. Its obviously good value for money but you get what you pay for and the meat is generally highly processed and full of any part of the animal that they can scrape together once all the good bits packaged up.
