Has anyone tried the Iceland 20 piece BBQ pack?

It's my bday on Monday and we're having a BBQ  on Saturday & the other night I saw an advert for a BBQ bag/pack from Iceland with 20 pieces in it for about a 5r I think? Sure it had sausages, burgers & chicken drumsticks in it. Just wondered if anyone had tried it? If you have what sort of quality is it? & is the stuff tasty?

Or does anyone know of anywhere else that does a good BBQ pack like this? TIA! x

  • Don't know about Iceland but have you seen the morrisons offer? It's all fresh and usually retails at a higher price. You can get:

    4 burgers - £1
    8 pork sausages - 50p
    12 white rolls - 50p
    Pot potato salad - 50p
    Pack cherry tomatoes - 50p

Have a look at your local butchers. DD picked up this BBQ pack at a butchers in Ramsgate yesterday:

    6x chicken drumsticks
    6x (large) ribs
    6x sausages
    6x burgers
    6x minted lamb sausage things
    6x spicy wings

For £10- 6 items of meat each for 6 people, not bad.

    Have a lovely birthday!! :T

I would never have thought to go there as I'm veggie (lol) but it can't hurt to go in and ask! :) and thanks for the birthdy wish too! Can't wait! lol xx

tessie bear - Ooh! Might have to get a nice cake selection too then........ lol xx

We always shop in Iceland for BBQ food, WW meals and icecream.
BBQ food deals are very good, those packs at £5 are great, especially when we got friends over for a BBQ. :D WW meals are the cheapest there compared to Asda and Tesco. And their Rum & Raisin ice cream is delicious. :)
Their coleslaw/potatoe salad is very nice too. They also have frozen chicken pieces: original and tikka which are great for salads; they also have them in Tesco but very often they are out of stock. Trying to think what else....oh their garlic bread is very nice as well. Will think of some more no doubt. :D
  • I quite like the ads, a wee bit of cheesiness never hurt anyone! lol I've never shopped there before as the nearest one to me is 20 miles away (in a shopping mall!) but when I saw that ad i thought it looked like good value, although only if its good quality. Where do you all get your burger rolls from? Am thinking it might be best to leave that till sat morn so they're fresh?

O yeah, I get pack of 24 (i think) frozen burger rolls from there as well. :D
Food is good, no one has complained about it, Yet. :D
You have 2 packs at £5. First one has nice sausages, ok burgers and plain chicken. Other one has ribs and chicken wings, very nice.
You also have various other packs at £1 and £2. From various kebabs, sausages to various chicken pieces.

Look at the actual meat percentage of the product and its origin. That should answer your question.

I wouldn't eat it no way.

tajna, I think its the plain packs we got? We're (apparently.....) making some sort of marinade with pineapple & tomatoes (i think) to put over the chicken, so hopefully that helps!

There's 9 pork & beef Jumbo sausages (30% pork, 4% beef & various 'fillers'.....), 8 quarter pound beef burgers (80% beef) & 8 chicken drumsticks per bag. We got 3 bags, plus 2 packs of veggie burgers (4 per pack) & a big bottle of ketchup too, all for £18!!!!! So I'm very pleased at that!

Will be nipping to Tesco tomorrow for some cheapo booze to make cocktails & will check out baps etc. Thanks for all your help guys! Will let you know what the verdict is on the BBQ packs so you know whether its worth it or not! :) x
