ABBEY bank charge reclaim fight

early last year i wrote to my bank requesting bank statements as advised by this site.

after hearing nothing i wrote again last summer.

due to financial hardships i was made homeless and in march of this year moved into a council flat with my 2 children.

this morning a phoned my bank again requesting this information and complaining that i have been ignored - they have no record of me writing in!

i was told i can only claim back 6 years from now as they destroy all statements previous to this so don't have the information to send me.

does this sound right to you?????

now awaiting my statements to tot up whats owed and move forwards, will keep you all posted.

Abbey were written to by the FSA with regards to the Waiver 13.5 on data retention. As it stands at the moment they have a duty to give your details from July 2001. Furthermore, did they cash the cheque for £10 that you sent with the request?
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
