Selling Tiffany & Co on Ebay

I want to sell a silver Tiffany & co ring, it is genuine as I bought it myself from the Tiffany store in New York about 7 years ago but I don't have any proof.
I know there is a lot of fake Tiffany on ebay and I'm wondering if this is the best place to try and sell it or if anyone knows of anywhere better?

Maybe take it to a reputable jeweler and ask them to evaluate it and get a certificate to say it is a genuine Tiffany, that way you can show the certificate when listing2011 Sealed Pot Challenge #1238 hoping for £250 ~ saved £743.32

Hiya, I sold some Tiffany earrings I bought in New York and I didn't get very much for them... I think people just assume they are fake even though I included all the packaging, ribbon etc. Like you I didn't have any proof of purchase. I'm not sure that anyone else apart from Tiffany could guarantee the item is genuinely Tiffany?Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0

I have been looking to buy a Tiffany necklace, and have looked on e bay as I cannot afford the £300 plus for the one I want. I saw one recently which seemed to have all the right things and lots of photos. After looking closely at the item and the seller, it was a man claiming that the necklace was an unwanted gift (woman's necklace) and they didn't wear much jewellery so they didn't like it. They didn't explain why they had previously sold another 3 "genuine" Tiffany necklaces and why the pictures showing the chain he was selling to be different on each picture (the heart tag had either no hallmark or the hallmark and engraving was different in each picture.) I eventually lost faith and have resigned myself to the fact that I will never have one! I spent 4 months looking and I can say hand on heart that yes, we assume them to be fakes, or if not fake, then old and tatty as that what happens to silver. Until the item is received and shown to a jeweller there is no way to prove whether an item is genuine or not without the original receipt, as most forgeries now come with the pouch, box, certificate of authenticity and cleaning care card. I hope this helps. I spent hours and hours comparing the real things and decided risking it for a fake wasn't worth the hassle!!Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)0
