Hi everyone, this is my first time on here and need just a bit of advice/reassurance. I have been reading all night the success stories. I recently wrote to Abbey, Halifax and Halifax Bank of Scotalnd requesting PPI back from all the loans I had ever had with them 9 in total (oh the shame). Had a reply from all within the 1st week saying they would investigate. Had to fill in a questionnaire for Abbey. In all the threads I have read I have not heard these banks mentioned at all. Have I just missed them or have people been unsuccessful against claiming from them.
Thanks
Ange
Thanks

Hi Ange
You may have missed then because there have been much success with all of them.;)
However, some are still fighting, and some moved on to the financial service (FOS).
Good luck with yours.;)
In regards of the questionaire, not everyone completes them, they are also known to some as stalling tactics, but depending on how long ago you taken the loan out, for example if the loan was taken out over 6 years ago, they may just require this extra information.
If then say this was taken out over the last 5- 6 years, they should still hold the information on your from when they sold you the policy.
Some write back to say, as you should hold the details on your computer systems, please refer to that, as they should keep hold of them for up to 6 years in England and in Wales, Scotland 5 years, not sure about elsewhere.
They must still investigate by the 8 weeks they are entitled to.
Its up to you, but if you complete and need help, post up, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi -I posted a couple of months ago as I had wrote to all my previous lenders and was a bit anxious as I didn't know what to expect and thought it would be a long drawn out process with lots of questions to answer.
Far from it I received in total over £7500 after 8 weeks, never believed I would get a penny back as I signed the dotted line in all cases.
If anybody out there is debating whether to apply, go for it you have nothing to lose.
Best of luck to you all and thank you so much for this site and the advice it offers it was invaluable to me and has really helped turn around my finacial positin - thank you
