londoner1998 - wow thats incredible, moving to uk form spain with no where to live etc.. i coul never do anything like that.. have to have things planned.... Glad to hear things worked out for you and you are doing well by the sounds of it.

hethmar - thanks, i/ll take a look for the income protection stuff.. Wow oving out at 23!!!! and he finds it exciting.. i'm be the complete opposite - positively scared to death!

I had a quick look today ar a rough morage calculator based on my salary - its not looking good.... there is quiet a shortcut in terms or the mac morgage i'd get and the amount the properties are going for... so think all i can do is save up more as a deposit i think....definately is looking more and more like can only get a place if mre than 1 person live together i.e joint wage or a group people get a place together... I friend from uni did this. he put the house in his name and then he had him, his gf (now wife), brother and a couple of mates living in the property all paying rent effectively so this all went towards his morgage... not sure hwo his getting on, i usually hear form him once a year but thats about it.. he moved around a 40 miute drive away and its just finding the time to go visit etc...

    hi,

Does anyone know of a good free morgage calculation tool which will show much much the monthly repayments would be depending on what deposit you put down?

This way i can judge what my ceiling level is in terms of property price and how much i can put down initially and what the costs will be and then increase the deposit to see how much of an effect it has to monthly repayments.

I tried the one i found online, the morgage they reckoned i would get max is fairly low - less than 100k! so that virtually puts me out of the buying game at the moment....

I've also been looking at different areas.. for example if i moved furhter out, propeties are cheaper but i'd have to then look at how much travel costs into london would be compared to the higher morgage repayments in a closer area.

wow- all these things to way up....

Kev, have a look at Nationwide's website, they have different calculators on there.
