Unemployment Mortgage Insurance

Hi my hubby has recently been made redundant and Barclays have taken 3 months to turn down his claim. The policy is for unemployment and pays the mortgage for 2 years in the event of a claim. The claim from start to finish has been an utter disaster. From them not taking the premiums every month.
As the dd was active on my account and they had not been taking them they agreed that if I paid the missed premiums I could re-start my policy which was £245. They then proceeded to take the money from the wrong bank account causing me £90 worth of charges.
I have an ongoing claim for that after I proved I had informed them of the change of bank a/c.
After numerous delays and excuse 2 weeks ago I was informed that it had come back from the underwriters and had been approved. Now 2 weeks later I phoned up again to say I heard nothing and had no money. The next day they informed me that I had been turned down.
My hubby had been made redundant from his previous job on 17/09/09. We had booked and paid for a hold which we left on 23/09/09. As soon as we came back he attendted and interview the day we got back and the next day a job offer was made07/10/09, starting on the 27/10/09.
So no JSA to claim. As my hubby was only in this job for 5 months 1 week he has not attained 6 months of continuous work or jsa. I have launched an appeal and want a copy of all the case notes and letter sent as they have refused to give me the name of the person who said my claim had been approved. In what time frame do they have to provide all my case notes, Letters and copy of policy to have all info to hand when I inform the FSA. The kicker is I actually work for Barclays and cannot beleive the crap customer service Barclays Insurance Dublin provide it is far from what I provide in the dept I work.

The insurer should be able to tell you clearly where and why the claim has failed. I suspect its the reason I have given above but they should provide that to you.The kicker is I actually work for Barclays and cannot beleive the crap customer service Barclays Insurance Dublin provide it is far from what I provide in the dept I work.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I think the poster is trying to claim on redundancy from the NEW job started in October, which ended in March, claimed on, and now three months later has been refused as the insured wasn't in employment for the 6 month period.I am a Financial Adviser specialising in Mortgages, Protection, Health and Medical Insurance. I also write wills. All information posted on this site is for discussion only, and should not be taken as advice.0

I accept that he has worked just under the 6 months required, during the conversation they asked about the months break and I stated that he did not sign it was then I was told he didnt qualify. Now my mortgage advisor says there is a 2 week grace period that they do not ask about. She strongly advised me to appeal as my dates were really close and he did get an offer of employment and was unable to make a claim due to the hols that we took.
The whole claim has been so hard and they have contiually asked for information which we have provided. Im just skirting on the 6 month period and am determined to fight them. They havn't kept to there own deadlines of 10 day wait for decisions and have stated pulled the rug out from under us after stating it had all been approved. Thats why im determined that they hand over the case notes so I can see what conversations they have had with each other. I could go on with what else has gone wrong but it is so much you would not believe.
Does anyone know what time period thay have to hand all thsi over by.0 -
After many tears and 1 appeal my claim has been accepted. I think the fact that the contract was dated 13th Oct but the start date was 24th Oct it went further into a grey area plus me phoning up near enough everyday.
Like a do with a bone I was not gonna let it go and I succedded.0
