people with brains please help

Required - Roughly the end of October for 2 weeks I need to be in Wales. Port Talbot is my nearest station and will be picked up from there.
I live near Clacton on Sea.

I know I will get cheaper travel on the bus but it takes a lot longer. It also restricts me regarding times.

I cannot get my head around singles and splits the cheapest I have found is an off peak return at £88.00.

    You are too early to book the cheapest fares - leave it another month at least. These will restrict you on time though - only the train booked.

    That off peak return can be bought on the day so don't panic and buy it now.

    I would estimate petrol alone would be half of this amount.

    Or perhaps a company located in both areas that allow a couple of one way rentals for this price?
